WEBSTER-Joseph S. Maros, 65 of Webster, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Vincent’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Joe was born and raised in Worcester to the late Joseph and Eleanor (Wygren) Maros. He graduated from Worcester Vocational Technical High School. He worked in the steel trade business for over 30 years, retiring in 2022. His favorite past time was going to the casino with his wife. Joe was an avid bowler for many years. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing corn hole and horseshoes. Joe was a big sports fan. He was always watching some type of game which drove his wife crazy. Any time there was a party everyone wanted to know if Joe would be there.
Joe leaves his wife of nearly 36 years, Ann Marie (Houlihan) Maros; a sister, Mary Nelson and her husband Robert of Charlton; two brothers, Paul Maros and his longtime companion Tracy of Worcester and Steve Maros and his longtime companion Cindy of Florida; two nephews, Tommy Nelson, his wife Ashley and their daughter Cassidy and Mackie Bruley; five nieces, Marissa Maros and her companion Al and their two sons, Jayden and Dillon, Laurie Bruley, Tammy Reynolds, Pauline Mallot and Lisa Sutliff; a sister-in-law, Karen Blanchard of Oakham; his beloved boys, (his dogs), Billy and Brady; many friends and extended family members. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by stepsister, Elaine Bruley; his brother-in-law, Mark Blanchard and his niece, Katrina Blanchard.
Family and Friends are welcome to attend calling hours on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 9:00-11:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Joe will be laid to rest following the funeral service in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105
