John R. Lugo, 71 of Hubbardston formerly of Holden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
John was a guidance counselor for North High School for ten years. He previously worked as a history teacher at both South High School and Worcester Art Magnet School and a director of the bilingual program for the City of Worcester School Department.
John is survived by his beloved wife, of 50 years, Evelyn M. (Toro) Lugo; two sons, John R. Lugo and his a partner Nicholas Willis of Malden and Joshua A. Lugo and his significant other Melissa; two daughters, Arlene M. Lugo of Worcester and Kathy A. Miles and her husband David of Hubbardston; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Jenna, Joshua, Anne and Christopher Lugo, Evan Isabella and David Miles.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 4-7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
