John B. Hamm, 64, passed away suddenly after a short illness on Monday, February 23, 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Suzanne (Hastings) Hamm; brother William Hamm, Jr.; daughter Theresa Carrasquillo and her husband Michael; seven grandchildren, including Michael and Jacinda; two sisters-in-law- Cheryl Gaulin, and Laurie Cluett and her husband Tim; three brothers-in-law- William Hastings and his lifelong partner Mary Jane, David Hastings and his lifelong partner Erica, and Peter Hastings and wife Andrea; nephew Jeffrey Wilkman; three cousins- Anne Moncada, Paula Amiralian, and Pam Reponen; and two cats- Prudence and Luna. He was predeceased by his only son Jacob J. Hamm Brisbois in 2023.
John was born in Worcester on March 2, 1961, son of the late William Hamm and Marie (Chute) Williams. He graduated from Tahanto High School. He worked for Jevic Trucking as a Long Haul truck driver for many years before going to FedEx as a truck driver then becoming a supervisor for the FedEx Freight Department for 16 years. He proudly served his country as an MP of the US Army in California.
John loved classic cars and going to car shows. He was very proud of his ’68 Dodge Charger. He was a family-oriented man who always put everyone before himself. He had such a big heart and was a positive man who loved life. If you knew John, you knew he had a great sense of humor and would always have a funny comment to share. He was gone too soon and will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name may be made to the Motorcycle Relief Project, PO Box 341 Fountain, CO 80817 or at www.motorelief.org.
