John J Beando Jr.

John J. Beando, Jr., 65, of Yarmouth Port, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, surrounded by his family after a period of declining health.

John was born in Worcester, the son of John J. Beando, Sr. and Helen (Hanson) Beando. He grew up in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School. He earned his B.S. degree from Framingham State University, and later received his master’s degree from Anna Maria College. John built a 40-plus-year career in finance and logistics at The TJX Companies, where he was deeply respected for his dedication and work ethic. He loved mentoring colleagues and guiding others, always focused on leaving a lasting impact through the people he inspired and supported.

John married the love of his life, Karen Walsh, on May 24, 1986. They shared 39 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and partnership. Together they built a beautiful life, first in Shrewsbury and for the past five years in the home he cherished in Yarmouth Port on Cape Cod.

John is survived by his wife, Karen; his three daughters, Kelsey Beando, Alexandra Beando, and Micaela Beando, all of Boston; his sister, Patricia Morris of Shrewsbury; his brother-in-law, Daniel Walsh and his wife Lois of Cambridge; his adored grand-dog, Lucy; his niece, Danielle Santello, and nephew, Jack Morris; as well as many extended family members and friends.

John was a former member of St. Anne’s Church and a former 3rd-degree member of the Adelphi Council Knights of Columbus. John’s priority to his family, friends, and community created a legacy of lasting relationships that bettered the lives of all who knew him.

John enjoyed golfing whenever he could, tending to his immaculate yard and flower beds, and watching sports, especially the Bruins, with the Patriots and Red Sox close behind. He loved wintering in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea with Karen, where their favorite moments were enjoying a drink together on the balcony at sunset. John almost always had music playing. His favorites were 70s, 80s, and 90s rock music, with bands like The Who and Pearl Jam always on his playlist. He loved spending time with the people he cared about. Above all, John treasured every moment with his wife and daughters during holidays, special occasions, and family gatherings.

Friends and relatives are invited to gather for calling hours on Thursday, December 4th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His funeral will be held on Friday, December 5th, beginning at the funeral home, followed by a procession to St. Anne Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
