Joan L. “Linda” (Price) Bailey, 78, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at UMass Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Worcester, Linda was the daughter of the late Milton A. Price, Sr. and Elnora (Kelley) Price. She was a proud graduate of Leicester High School, Class of 1965, and remained a lifelong resident of Worcester. Throughout her career, she provided dedicated administrative support at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and later worked in customer service at another insurance company. Her reliability, compassion, and commitment to helping others left a meaningful impression on those around her.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved to dance and listen to music, and enjoyed watching sports, especially her beloved Boston Celtics. She took interest in world events, loved going shopping with her daughter Christine, and treasured time with her family who were the center of her life.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Michael Bailey and his fiancée, Pari Omidbakhsh, of Shrewsbury; Robert Bailey and his longtime partner, Sherrel Cooley, of Worcester, a daughter-in-law, Erika Alston, of Kernersville, N.C.; and Jeffrey Bailey and his wife, Terasa, of Murrells Inlet, SC., and a daughter, Christine Massenburg, and her husband, James Massenburg, Sr., of Worcester.
She is also survived by two brothers, Milton A. “Dunnie” Price, Jr. and Steven “Pookie” Price, Sr., both of Worcester; two sisters, Phyllis Laura of Worcester and Christine Johnston of Alabama, a dear aunt, Gloria (Kelley) Ross; twenty grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, and is also survived by many loving friends and extended family.
She was predeceased by her son, Paul F. Bailey, Jr.; her daughter, Michelle Bailey; her grandchildren, Kaiyah Bailey and Zyaire Bailey; and two brothers, Lee “Modie” Price and Dean “Beanie” Price.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 9:00–11:00 a.m., immediately followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her burial will take place privately at a later date.
