Jianrong Liu

Jianrong Liu, 82, of Worcester, MA passed away March 29, 2022, at UMass Memorial Hospital, after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Xi‘an , China, she was the daughter of Bingtao Liu and Yunshu Wang. She was the beloved wife of Kefu Mao, with whom she just celebrated 60 years of marriage. She also leaves behind her children, Aiwu Mao and her husband Rongnong Zhou, AiwenMao and her husband Fan Tang, grandson Yuxiang Mao, Cheng Zhou and granddaughter Isabella Zhou, and surviving sistersJianying Liu and JianYuan Liu.

She attended community college in China in the 60s. She experienced many incredible miracles in her life, including  suffering with heart disease since childhood. She was told she could not have any children, but God helped her to have 2 beautiful daughters. In 1971, she underwent open heart surgery-at a time when few people were expected to survive the procedure. Jianrong came to the United States in 2006, after which she went through many more lifesaving procedures.

Along with her family, she enjoyed traveling to many places in China, Germany and the USA. She loved reading and was always curious about new things. She was very good with knitting for her daughters and also donated her creations to many in the local Worcester community. 

Jianrong was deeply loved by her husband, children, extended family, friends and community, along with her sisters and brothers in the Christian Gospel Church in Worcester.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 3 at 11:15 am at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. At the family's request, all guests are asked to wear a mask.
