Jesse Michael Kniskern, “Jesse K,” 36 of Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, in the loving home in which he resided for 27 years.
Jesse is survived by his mother, Lisa J. Colcord of Shrewsbury; his father, Leonard S. Kniskern and his wife Deanna Kniskern of North Carolina; his fiancée, Gabriella Pimentel; two brothers, Keith Kniskern and his fiancée, Leanne McPherson of Worcester and Seth Colcord of Shrewsbury; five sisters, Jewel Colcord of Shrewsbury, Lindsay Kniskern and Trisha Pike of Worcester, and Mandie Bishop and Sarah Pike of North Carolina; one grandmother, Carol A. Benoit; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Jesse was predeceased by an older brother, Lenny “Lenny Jr.” Corso, and a baby sister, Angela Kniskern; his maternal grandfather, Richard L. Benoit and maternal grandmother, Jeanne M. Benoit; his paternal grandfather, Robert F. Kniskern and paternal grandmother, Elizabeth “Betsy” Kniskern.
Jesse was born in Worcester, living the first 9 years of his life on Vernon Street, making tree forts, and always exploring with his older brother, Keith. He was baptized at Saint Brigid in Millbury. After moving to Shrewsbury, Jesse quickly––and very easily––built long-lasting friendships in his beloved neighborhood of Edgemere. He played for Shrewsbury Little League, where he excelled as a pitcher and a grand-slam hitter. Later, Jesse became fond of BMX bikes, as well as street bikes. He was known as a phenomenal stuntman who could ride a “wheelie” for miles on end. He and his friends loved riding their bikes at the “pits” in Shrewsbury and taking the “T” into Boston to the skateparks. As he grew older, he enjoyed customizing his Monte Carlo and hanging out at White City alongside his many friends. A kid at heart, one of his many passions included stargazing through his telescope, as well as watching Marvel and animation movies.
He worked as a cable installation technician for Charter Communications with his best friend, Jesse Lewis. He then joined his father Lenny, and brother Keith, at “Driveway’s by Mr. K,” where he perfected his paving skills. Finally, he and Keith pursued their dreams of opening their own paving company, “PAVE-MINT,” where he worked until God called him home.
He will be remembered as a selfless, loyal, kind, and vibrant soul, with a heart of gold and an authentic sense of humor; a nurturer and supporter to his cherished mother, Lisa; a right-hand man to his “brud,” Keith; a confidant on late-night drives to his brother, Seth; a protector to his sister, Jewel; a loving fiancé to Gabriella; a cuddler to his chihuahua, Lilly; and a ray of light to all.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 4th, from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, in Worcester. A funeral procession including paving trucks honoring Jesse will begin Monday, December 5th at 11 am from the funeral home to Hope Cemetery.
