Jeanne (Bourdages) Borci

April 18, 1923 — April 22, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Jeanne Marie Bourdages Borci.   She was born on April 18, 1923, in Spencer, MA to Joseph and Agnes (Bouley) Bourdages and passed away just 4 days after her 100th birthday on April 22, 2023.

Jeanne was a graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer, class of 1941, then earned her bachelor’s degree cum laude in Chemistry and Biology with a Minor in Music from Rivier College in Nashua, NH, in 1945. Upon her graduation from college, Jeanne became a chemist and met the love of her life, Boniface Edward Borci, working together in a lab at Crowley Chemical Company in Worcester.  They married in 1946 and settled on Adams Street in the Italian neighborhood off Shrewsbury Street in Worcester.  Jeanne and Boniface raised 3 children and had 5 grandchildren together before his untimely passing in 1983.

She was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish and the Golden Years Organization, where she made many lifelong friends.  Jeanne’s family always came first in her life. Her favorite place in the world was her summer cottage on Cranberry Meadow Pond in Spencer. Her beloved husband Boni and brother Remi built the cottage where she enjoyed being with family and friends. Jeanne also loved spending time in Narragansett, RI with her sister and family, as well as volunteering her time in various ways at Adams Street School.   She was an avid reader who loved to listen to music and take walks.  Jeanne was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing the piano with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her advice to others was to “be a good person, love your family, work hard, and get a good education”.  She had room in her heart for everyone she met and treated everyone like they were a part of her family.

Jeanne is survived by, her daughter, Patricia (Borci) Archambeault and her husband Paul of Spencer, her son, Mario Borci of Worcester; grandchildren, Mario Borci II and his wife Monica, Chad Borci and his spouse Maureen Leighton, Michael Archambeault and his wife Laura, Michele Archambeault and her husband John Beau Fewell; her great-grandchildren Mario Borci III, Talia Borci, Anthony Borci, Jake Crocker, Dani Borci, John Paul Fewell, and Brooke Archambeault; nephews and nieces, James Fitzgerald and his wife Annette, Kathy Mundy, Lynn Conn and her husband Peter, Christine Frank, Marlene Wachs, and Steven Sasseville; many other loving family members and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph Bourdages and Agnes (Bouley) Bourdages, her loving husband of 37 years Boniface Edward Borci,  a son David Borci, daughter-in-law Doreen (Loiseau) Borci, and granddaughter Brandi Borci; a brother Remi Bourdages, and sister Madeleine (Bourdages) Sasseville,
