Jean E. Violante

Jean E. (Legor) Violante, 92, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Knollwood Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Athanas and Elizabeth (Breen) Grigor. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and has lived in Worcester all her life. Jean worked as a front-end associate for Big Y Supermarket for many years before retiring in 2011. Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was dedicated to her family and loved being surrounded by them. Jean had a great sense of humor and was known to her nieces and nephews as the “funny aunt.”

Jean’s husband, Raymond T. Violante passed away on December 15, 2016. She is survived by two sons, Dominick Violante and his wife Jeanene of Avon, CT. and Raymond Violante of Worcester; three grandchildren, Gina Muse and her husband Alex of Lakeville, MA., Mario Violante of Worcester and Leah Violante of Avon, CT.; a step grandchild, Alex Ryan of Avon, CT.; two great grandchildren, Lex and Eva Muse; several nieces and nephews who she was very close with as well as many extended family members. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Patrick Legor; five sisters, Eleanor Bechard, Claire Goulet, Shirley Goulet, Elizabeth “Betty” Stranieri and her twin, Joan Shooshan.

All her funeral services will all be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple St. Worcester with her calling hours from 8:30-9:45 am and her funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
