Ivar F Carlson

Ivar F. Carlson, 62, of Auburn, MA, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2023. He was the loving father and grandfather of Stephanie Carlson, her fiancé Matt, and their children Adelyn and Liam, and Melanie LeBlanc, her husband Bradley, and their children Mason and Lydia. He also leaves a brother, several close friends and other extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Ivar J. and Frances (DeCaro) Carlson.

After graduating high school, Ivar enlisted in the United States Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant after serving five years. Ivar enjoyed many sports and was a softball fanatic, having played on multiple league teams for more than a decade. He also participated in league bowling and was known to enjoy an occasional game of golf with his work friends. Ivar was a car enthusiast who loved Mustangs, in particular, and he was never seen without his morning cup of Dunkin’.  Above all, he was a lifelong hardworking family man, who was over-the-moon to be called “Fa Fa” by his grandchildren. 

A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 27 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 27 at 11:00 am at St. Bernard Church, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester.  Burial will be private.
