Ismete Alibali

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ismete (Male) Alibali, 77, of Worcester, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late Skender Alibali.

Born December 28, 1948, in Erseke, Albania, Ismete was the daughter of the late Skender and Zenepe Male.

A talented and dedicated seamstress, she worked with her hands her entire life and truly loved her craft. Even in the last months of her life, she continued sewing whenever someone needed something — a reflection of her generous heart and tireless spirit.

Ismete is survived by her loving children, Fabiola Pisqolla and her husband Kristofor Pisqolla, and Gledis Rucaj and her husband Genci Rucaj. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ashley, Gloria, Elena, and Angelo. She was also blessed with six cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and many nieces and nephews in Albania.

She lived in Albania for most of her life and cherished her visits to Greece and the United States to spend precious time with her daughters and grandchildren. Those moments with family brought her the greatest joy.

She will be remembered as loving, kind, and always happy — a woman whose life centered around her family. Her warmth, strength, and quiet devotion will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Calling hours for Ismete will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00a.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Family and friends are welcome to begin gathering for services at 10:00a.m. Ismete will be laid to rest in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
