Herbert J. Frankel, 67 of Worcester, passed away at home on Sunday, September 29, 2024 after a series of medical problems.
Herbert was born in Natick, grew up in Worcester, a son of the late Elihu R. and Barbara (Kemp) Frankel and was a graduate of Doherty High School. He later attended Quinsigamond Community College. Herbert worked as a delivery driver for Interstate Brands IBC formerly known as Nissen Company for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Teamsters and a huge fan of Bob Dylan, acquiring various collectibles over his lifetime. Herbert’s was a quiet, reserved man who enjoyed the company of his beloved wife and close friends.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carolyn (Astin) Frankel and her son and granddaughter, Daniel Campbell and Lily Campbell both of Worcester; a brother, Robert Frankel and his wife Karen of Harwich; two nephews, Ross and Aaron Frankel and close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 3-4 pm with his memorial service immediately following at 4:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
