Harry Lupien, 77, of Sturbridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at St. Vincent Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health.
Born in Worcester, the son of the late Edward L. and Margaret A. (Newman) Lupien, Harry was raised in Shrewsbury and was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School. He and his beloved wife of 53 years, Lois M. (DiTerlizzi) Lupien, were married on July 6, 1968. Lois predeceased him in January 2022. In 1990, Harry and Lois made their home in Sturbridge, residing in a house lovingly built for them by family and friends.
Harry dedicated 38 years of his career to serving as a letter carrier at the United States Postal Service in Worcester. He was a faithful member of the Sharing God's Love Ministry in Webster, where he found deep connection and community. Harry embraced a life centered on his family and friends, cherishing moments spent at family cookouts, holiday gatherings, and the fellowship of his church community on Sundays. He also enjoyed following a variety of sports and was an avid fan of crime shows. For 18 years, Harry contributed his time and dedication to the Worcester County USBC Bowling Association, serving as a board member in various capacities and actively participating in bowling tournaments nationwide alongside his wife.
He is survived by his four devoted daughters: Lori Haarala and her husband Brett of Framingham, Lisa Fitzpatrick and her husband David of East Longmeadow, Lorraine Lupien of Sturbridge, and Margaret Stanley and her companion Robert Brogan, also of Sturbridge. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Arthur Lupien, and his five adored grandchildren: Ryan, Brooke, Summer, Haley, and Katelyn.
