Listen to Obituary

Harold F. Brady, Sr., 87 of Charlton, MA. formerly of Grafton, MA. passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Harold was born in Worcester, a son of the late Perley F. and Bernadette L. “Laura” (Belanger) Brady. Before retiring, Harold worked in the warehouse at Chemical Sales and Service in Worcester for more than 30 years. He was also a longtime member of Singletary Rod and Gun Club in Oxford.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to Roy Orbison music, doing yardwork and displaying his yard ornaments, word search puzzles, painting and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his vacation time at Lake Willoughby in Vermont and made many special memories over the years with family and friends at a Camp in Douglas. There he spent his time raking the private, pristine beach in the early morning hours, going fishing out in the rowboat, playing horseshoes and badminton with his nephews, close friends and other family members as well as enjoying the massive nightly bonfires. Harold loved the holidays and searching for the biggest tree he could fit in his home, along with decorating the tree and the entire house for all to enjoy.

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Barbara T. (Cove) Brady; his daughters, Linda M. Caruso and Shirley A. Brady; a son, Harold F. Brady, Jr. of Charlton; his grandchildren, Steven Susel and his wife Brianne of Whitinsville and Jennifer Hayn of Connecticut; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Bryce; two very close brothers-in-law, Jackie Cove and his wife Pat of Florida and Bobby Cove and his wife Brenda of Worcester and three very close sisters-in-law, Sandra M. (Scampini) Cove of Spencer, Josephine Rafferty of Charlton and Ann Walsh of Sterling; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members, all whom he loved and cherished throughout the years. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by four sisters, Rita Brady of Houston, TX, Laura Bouchard of Amherst, NH, Marlene Cotter of Spencer, MA and Florence Tashjian of Worcester, MA and two brothers, Edward Brady of Norway, ME. and William Brady of Worcester, MA.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt and special thank you to Jenn, Harold’s hospice nurse.

A private graveside service is planned for a later date. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
