Gloria was a woman of remarkable courage, independence, and determination.

Gloria (Piccinino) Trafecante, 93, of Northborough and West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel Trafecante, in 2015.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Gloria was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Maria (D'Errico) Piccinino. She was also predeceased by her seven siblings, whom she loved dearly.

Gloria was a woman of remarkable courage, independence, and determination. Throughout her life, she was never afraid to spread her wings, embrace new opportunities, and create a meaningful life filled with purpose, adventure, and love. Her strength, resilience, and positive spirit inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A talented makeup artist, hairdresser, and successful business owner, Gloria dedicated many years to helping others look and feel their best. She proudly owned and operated Capelli Unisex Salon in Westborough and Framingham before later working at Headliners in Falmouth. During her years in Florida, she continued her passion for her craft as a resident hairdresser at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach.

While Gloria's professional accomplishments were many, she will be remembered most for the way she made others feel. Her family and friends were blessed by her unwavering kindness, generosity, hospitality, and love. Her home was always open, her table always welcoming, and her heart always full. She found joy in caring for those around her, creating lasting memories through family gatherings, celebrations, and simple moments spent together. Her warmth touched countless lives, and her legacy of compassion and selflessness will continue to live on through those who loved her.

Gloria was a devoted member of Saint Bernadette Parish in Northborough and found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family. She leaves behind two loving sons, Michael E. Trafecante and Daniel A. Trafecante and his wife, Nadia; four cherished grandchildren, Rossella, Stefano, Marco, and Charlotte; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss her deeply.

Though her family mourns her loss, they take comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the example she set of a life lived with courage, generosity, faith, and love.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, followed by a Funeral Service at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
