Gloria E. Panagiotou

Gloria E. Panagiotou, 85, of Shrewsbury passed away on April 9, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Aristotelis “Teddy” Panagiotou; her son, Gregory A. Panagiotou and his wife Lindsey, and her grandson, Brady. She leaves her brother, Paul R. Rheaume and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Her parents, Joseph A. and Florence E. Rheaume and her sister, Madeleine Claire, predeceased her.

Gloria graduated from Commerce High School, where she was a Horace Mann Scholar and a graduation day speaker. At Worcester State College, she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the recipient of the French Award, President of Le Cercle Francais, and an editor and writer for the college newspaper. She also did graduate work at Assumption College and Anna Maria College.

Gloria taught French and English at Bacon Academy Jr.-Sr. High School in Colchester CT, at Tahanto Regional High School in Boylston MA, and at St. Mary's Jr.-Sr. High School in Worcester MA. She was also a substitute teacher in Shrewsbury and at Wachusett Regional High School. She was a member of the American Federation of Teachers, the National Catholic Educational Association, and the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association.

Gloria enjoyed foreign travel and was an avid reader and amateur landscape artist.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, April 17th from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 37 Lake Parkway, Webster followed by the funeral service at 11:30 AM.
