Gloria A. McCreery

Gloria A. (Materia) McCreery, 92, of Dudley, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Saint Vincent Hospital, with family at her bedside. Her husband, John F. McCreery, Jr., predeceased her in May 2016.

Gloria is survived by her loving children, Joseph Leva and his wife Darlene of Uxbridge, Michael Leva of Plymouth, MA, Virginia Gervais and her husband John Gervais, Jr., with whom she lived, Elizabeth DeFranco and her husband Anthony of Arlington, MA, and John F. McCreery, III of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Bethany, Nathan, Nicholas, Olivia, Kyelle, Anthony, Sofia, Logan, and Isabella; seven great grandchildren, Kassidy, Mackenzie, Liam, Lexon, Lincoln, Izabella, and Eliza; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter in law, Kathleen “Katie” Leva; and by three sisters, Rose Miller, Elizabeth Priest, and Joanne Compton. Gloria was born in Malden, daughter of the late, Joseph and Helen L. (Ranck) Materia and she attended Cambridge Latin High School.

For over thirty years, Gloria worked as a waitress at the Harvard Donut Shop in Cambridge, delivering graciousness, a smile, a good cup of coffee and a donut. She loved to crochet, play BINGO, and watch golf and tennis. She was also very fond of her pets, who loved her unconditionally.

Services will be held privately. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.

Her family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and personal care attendants at Saint Vincent Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.
