Gladys Y Calderon Lopez

November 6, 1961 — April 10, 2022

Gladys Y. Calderon Lopez, 60, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.  Her husband, Samuel E. Lopez, predeceased her in January 2004.

Gladys is survived by her loving sons, Paul Lopez and his wife Linda, Henry Lopez and his companion Shannon Hoch, and Michael Lopez, all of Worcester; three grandchildren, Samuel, Casey, and Lucianna; three brothers, Alberto, Antonio, and Jose Calderon; five sisters, Rosa Calderon, Mercedes Calderon, Irene Calderon, Olga Figeroa, and Narcisa Calderon ; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Gladys was born in Cuenca, Ecuador, daughter of the late, Lucas Calderon and Irene Brito, moving to Central Massachusetts in the mid 1980’s.

Gladys worked as an assembler and quality control manager for Fiber Optics in Webster and as a manager for Burger King restaurants.  She was a member of Lady of Fatima Church, she enjoyed gardening, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with family, friends, and loved ones.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, April 15, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral will be on Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.

 

Gladys Y. Calderón López, de 60 años, de Worcester, falleció el domingo 10 de abril de 2022, en la comodidad de su hogar, rodeada de su amorosa familia.  Su esposo, Samuel E. López, falleció antes que ella en enero de 2004.

A Gladys le sobreviven sus amorosos hijos, Paul Lopez y su esposa Linda, Henry Lopez y su compañera Shannon Hoch, y Michael Lopez, todos de Worcester; tres nietos, Samuel, Casey y Lucianna; tres hermanos, Alberto, Antonio y José Calderón; cinco hermanas, Rosa Calderon, Mercedes Calderon, Irene Calderon, Olga Figueroa y Narcisa Calderon: muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y amigos.  Gladys nació en Cuenca, Ecuador, hija del difunto Lucas Calderón e Irene Brito, mudándose al centro de Massachusetts a mediados de la década de 1980.

Gladys trabajó como ensambladora y gerente de control de calidad para Fiber Optics en Webster y como gerente para restaurantes Burger King.  Era miembro de la Iglesia de Santa Juana de Arco, disfrutaba de la jardinería, pero su mayor alegría era el tiempo que pasaba con su familia, amigos y seres queridos.

El horario de llamadas será el viernes 15 de abril, de 2 p.m. a 7 p.m. en MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Su funeral será el sábado  16 de abril a las 10 a.m. en la Iglesia de Santa Juana de Arco, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester.  El entierro seguirá en el cementerio de Notre Dame.
