George P. Wenzel

George P. Wenzel, aged 81, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Worcester, MA.

Born in Fitchburg, MA on December 4, 1942, to George and Marie (Morin) Wenzel. Raised in Fitchburg, George attended St. Bernard’s High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy where he served for 2 years. After being discharged, George worked for a year before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served his country proudly for 18 years before being honorably discharged. Renowned for his generosity and warm heart, George cherished his time spent with others. 

George is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Maher) Wenzel; his dear second cousin, Kenneth Kullman; and close friends. 

A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Promptly at 7:00pm a brief service will be held.
