His eight grandchildren that he always felt so blessed with, oldest to youngest, Thomas (Tommy) Adorno, Leila Adorno, Alden Solitro, Gulianna Rosario, George Rosario III, Grayson (Bubby) Adorno, Theodore (Teddy) Solitro, and Roman Adorno. He leaves behind his stepmother Rose Lopez whom he had such a special relationship with. Along with his siblings, all who had such an incredible bond, Sara Perez, Nancy Delgado, Pablo Rosario and his wife Michelle Rosario, Danny Rosario and his wife Gloria Rosario (Gibney), and Yvonne Rosario and her significant other Gary Alford. He leaves behind his in-laws Joseph and Paula Lonergan, along with brothers-in-laws Jospeh Lonergan and Joshua and his wife Melisssa Lonergan. I would like to thank his care teams; I would especially like to thank on George’s behalf, Dr. Mohammed Wazir, Ann Maria Martell RN at UMass Oncology infusion and all the other nurses and staff of the Oncology department. Dr Bryan Quintanilla Rodriguez and his attendee of UMass North Pavillion for your care and compassion you showed for George during his stay. I would also like to thank anyone along the way he told was an angel sent to him; I want you all to know he meant that. I especially would like to thank the UMass ICU staff, Nurse Partitioner Tyler Warren, Nurses Emily, Kirsten, and Brian for all your kind words, true compassion, and incredible care for George on his final day. You four truly were angels sent to us from God, and I can tell you George would have been so grateful for you all.
George was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 27, 1965, and moved to Worcester, Massachusetts when he was seven years old. He grew up surrounded by his large family and that is how he continued to live; all about his family and friends. He loved his Puerto Rican cultural food, traditions, music, and built so many lasting memories. He loved watching sports, especially the Pittsburg Steelers, New York Mets, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. He played softball for 17 years and went to the Nationals and loved to go fishing and playing golf, in his later years.
George was always a go getter and a hard worker throughout his whole life. He loved to provide for his family. He was never afraid to leave one job and go into a completely different field because his mentality was “if they can do it, so can I.” He was never afraid of change or trying something new and always excelled in whatever role he chose to do.
He loved to take something and either repair it or turn it into something new. He could always take anyone’s piece of junk and turn it into an absolute treasure. He loved to get in the car and just drive with no specific end destination; just see where the road would take us. One of his favorite places was the beach, especially Old Orchard Beach, Maine. That became a second home for us and a great escape for him.
George was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was always willing to give anything and all he had even though he himself never had an overabundance of anything. He was the type of person who would light up the room with his presence and his one-of-a-kind laugh that will be forever missed but never forgotten. Anyone who had the pleasure of getting to know him immediately saw how genuine a human being he truly was. George, you will be forever missed and never forgotten; you will be in our hearts forever; may you rest in eternal peace until we meet again.
