Gayle M. (Piccirelli) DiBenedetto, 79, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at the Jewish Healthcare Center.

Gayle was the devoted wife of forty-nine years to Dominic J. DiBenedetto and the loving mother of her son, Mark L. DiBenedetto. She also leaves her nephew, David DeAngelis and his wife, Carol, of Holden; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Louise D’Angelis.

Born in Worcester, Gayle was the daughter of the late Louis and Stella (Corio) Piccirelli and lived in Worcester all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School and worked for many years in the Marketing Department at Fallon Community Health before retiring in 2018. She had previously worked as an accountant with her sister and brother-in-law and began her professional career at Assumption College.

Gayle lived a quiet, private life surrounded by family and many close friends whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, caregiver, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family was the center of Gayle’s world. She treasured family gatherings, holidays, Cape Cod vacations, cookouts, and especially the Italian Sunday dinners and family traditions passed down through generations. She cherished keeping those traditions alive and sharing them with the people she loved.

Gayle enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially reading James Patterson novels on her deck with a glass of wine. She also had a special love for her many “paw-children” throughout the years, caring for and adoring them as though they were her own.

Above all, Gayle was the best mom a son could ever ask for. She was also a loving and devoted wife who shared forty-nine years with her husband, Dominic. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, traditions, and countless memories. Gayle’s love, kindness, and devotion will remain with her family forever, and the memories she created will be treasured for generations to come.
