Francis J. Triola, 82, a longtime resident of Sutton and local businessman passed away Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at home surrounded by the family he cherished.
Francis was born in Worcester on April 1, 1943, the son of Augustine and Doris (Buduo) Triola. He was raised in Worcester and attended North High and Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. Francis then went on to join the family business B.N.T. Sand & Gravel in Sutton. Later he and his brother Dominic purchased Concrete Service Inc, serving Worcester County Contractors. In 1999, they sold the business and founded a smaller business, Triola Brothers in Sutton, operating and guiding the business until retiring. In May of 1967, after meeting “The Love of his Life” Kathleen A. Hemenway on a blind date, they married and began a 58-year life of love, family and devotion raising their family in Sutton and the last 25 winters enjoying the sunshine in Naples Florida. After their girls went off to college Francis and Kathleen joined the Pleasant Valley Country Club, enjoying the sport of golf together here and in Florida for over 30 years.
Francis is survived by his love Kathleen; two daughters, Vicki M. Triola and her husband, Robert Donnan of Sutton, Danielle Triola Donnellan and her husband Steven of Grafton; three grandchildren he adored, Nicky, and Zachary Mansfield, and Alessandro Viva; a brother, Dominic Triola and his wife Cheryl of Sutton, sister, Doris Triola, and brother in law, Ron Perry both of Millbury; Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Maria Perry and brother Daniel Triola.
Francis lived a very simple life. His most important and enjoyable times were those spent with family and friends, giving the best advice, life lessons and guidance. The holidays, special occasions, especially Sunday morning coffee visits with his two daughters, and anytime he could be with his family are times that will be cherished the most. Francis’ presence, spirit, and love of life will remain with us forever. May he rest in peace.
At Francis’ request funeral services were held privately. THE MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St in Worcester was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
