Francesco L Belisario Dias

Francisco Belisario Dias, 88, of Worcester, formerly of Brazil, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 9, 2026 with his loved ones gathered at his side.

Francisco was born in São João Evangelista, Minas Gerais, Brazil, the son of José and Maria (Pereira de Jesus) Belisario Dias. He was raised in Brazil, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for DER before retiring.

Following the passing of his beloved wife, Marlene, on February 8, 2025, Francesco immigrated to the United States to be closer to his children and family.

Francisco is survived by his six children: Vanderlei Alves Ferreira; Kassia Rosa de Oliveira Dias; Kleber Oliveira Dias; Marcelo Oliveira Dias; Mauricio Dias and his wife, Tatiana, with whom he lived; and Marilia Dias. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, two brothers, seven sisters, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends both in the United States and in Brazil.

Francisco cherished spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing forró, watching television, praying, and taking peaceful walks. Above all, he was a loving father, grandfather, and family man who found great joy in being surrounded by the people he loved.

Family and friends are invited to gather and remember Francisco on Wednesday, August 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.

Following the services, Francisco will be returned to his beloved Brazil, where he will be reunited with his wife, Marlene, and laid to rest beside her.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him.
