Esther (Bisceglia) Dembowski, 90, of Worcester, MA, passed away December 6, 2022, at Sterling Village, after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Donald Dembowski, who predeceased her; Loving mother of Donna Wilson (Scot) of Oxford, Michael Dembowski (fiancé Paula Simoneau) of Fitchburg, Susan Stomski (Michael) of Dudley, and John Dembowski (Michele) of Ashby. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Maryann Ponty, of Pembroke Pines, FL. In addition to her husband, Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Matteo and Antonetta (Falcone) Bisceglia, her brother Vincent Bisceglia, and her sister Christine Iafrato, as well as 2 great-grandchildren.
Esther was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for many years and was a member of the Golden Years and Ladies’ Guild of Our Lady of Mount Carmel/Our Lady of Loreto Parish. With a competitive spirit, she loved playing (and winning!) card games and Rummikub, as well as playing the Daily Word Jumble. Esther treasured being in the company of her family on trips to Wells, ME, and to FL to visit her sister, as well as being at the center of holiday family gatherings, where she is remembered for her homemade pizza and Italian cookies. She was a social butterfly who made friends wherever she went, including nursing homes.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sterling Village for their excellent care and suggests memorial donations in Esther’s name to Sterling Village, Attn: Business Office, 18 Dana Hill Rd, Sterling, MA 01564.
At the family’s request, services will be private.
