Millbury

Elizabeth “Betty” C. (Blondin) Kotzen, 91, of Millbury, passed away peacefully, at home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

Betty was born in Millbury on December 16, 1932, to Emile and Mary (Roy) Blondin.  Betty graduated from Milbury High School, class of 1950. After graduating high school, Betty had gone on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Worcester State.

Betty was an avid Bingo player and would go play bingo as much as she could at any nursing home that had it scheduled. On Wednesday nights you would find her volunteering her time at the Peace of Bread Community Kitchen in Northbridge, serving her community. Betty was a very beloved schoolteacher in the Northbridge Public School Department. She loved to spend her final days drinking tea and watching Family Feud.

Sadly, in addition to her beloved husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by her loving sons, Richard and Raymond Magner; and her cherished siblings, Paul, Armand, Roland Blondin and Dolores Stefancyk.

Betty is survived by her dear son, Robert Magner of Sutton; her adored grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle, Richard, V, Nicholas, Robert, Jr., Raymond and Jamie; her cherished great-grandchildren, Alex, Cassandra, Liam, SJ, and Shealynn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Betty was kind, genuine, hardworking, loving and she will be deeply missed by those who called her mom, sister, gram, aunt, cousin, friend, and Mrs. K.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 10:00am at New Howard Cemetery, Sutton. Mercadante Funeral Home has been honored in assisting the family in funeral arrangements.
