Elaine M. (Haddad) Foley, 75, of Millbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at her cherished Cape Cod home, surrounded by those she loved, after a courageous seven-year journey with cancer.
Born in Worcester, Elaine was one of six children of the late William M. and Adele M. (Rezuke) Haddad. She was raised on Grafton Hill, graduated from Marion High School, and earned her degree magna cum laude in Occupational Therapy, from Worcester State College. With a dedication to children and a generous heart, Elaine served the children of Worcester as an occupational therapist for the city’s public schools for over 2 decades.
On October 3, 1971, Elaine married the love of her life, Brian M. Foley, beginning a remarkable 53-year partnership grounded in faith, devotion, and deep affection. Together, they raised their family in Worcester, creating a home where love, tradition, and laughter thrived.
Elaine was the heart of her family. Following her retirement, she embraced her most treasured role as Sitto to her grandchildren. Her days were filled with joy, cooking for family, entertaining guests, gathering at the beach in Dennisport, and enjoying long lunches and shopping trips with her sister and close friends. Her warmth, wit, and unwavering optimism touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Brian M. Foley; three sons: William M. Foley and his wife Kristin of Westborough, Brian M. Foley and his wife Tracey of Shrewsbury, Michael D. Foley and his wife Laura of Hopkinton; and her devoted daughter-in-law, Nicole Foley of Shrewsbury. Elaine’s legacy continues through her seven cherished grandchildren: Katie, Billy, Grace, Michaela, Lauren, Jack, and Caroline, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
Elaine also leaves her loving sister and best friend, Patricia A. Haddad of Auburn; her brothers, Nicholas W. Haddad of Shrewsbury, William M. Haddad, Jr. of Oxford, and Stephen E. Haddad of Los Angeles; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear lifelong friends.
She is predeceased by her beloved son, Christopher A. Foley, who passed away in 2017, and her brother, Ronald Haddad. The reunion with them brings comfort to those who mourn her.
A devoted member and volunteer of St. George's Orthodox Cathedral. Elaine embodied the values of service, faith, and family. As matriarch, she led with strength, grace, and an open heart. Her presence illuminated every gathering, whether at holiday celebrations, summer afternoons on the Cape, or quiet evenings at home.
