Douglas J. Hannam, Jr., 75, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Saturday, May 31,2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Douglas is survived by his wife, with whom he would have celebrated fifty years of marriage on June 21, Patricia J. (Mercier) Hannam; their daughters, Eileen J. Boisvert and her husband Brian of Oxford, and Theresa J. Hannam of Columbia, SC; a brother, Kevin J. Hannam of Worcester; two sisters, Maureen F. Trainor of Bradford, and Margaret Ross of North Sydney, Nova Scotia; five grandchildren, Owen C. Boisvert, Riley R. Boisvert, Andrew W. Boisvert, Elizabeth J. Moccia, and Tyler C. Germain; a great grandson, Carter D. Chaney; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Susan M. Stapinski and Pauline A. Doyle. Douglas was born in Worcester, son of the late, Douglas J. and Dita (Theodore) Hannam, and has lived here all his life. He received all of the Sacraments at the Cathedral of Saint Paul. He graduated from South High School and attended Worcester Junior College.

Douglas worked for forty years as a grinding wheel molder at Norton-Saint Gobain, retiring in 2012. Douglas was passionate about baseball and was involved with Ted Williams Little League in Worcester for over fifty-five years, from his time as a ball player, to becoming an umpire, coach, league President and Board Member. He was active in Little League on a State and National Level, where he served as Little League District Administrator for Massachusetts District 4- Baseball and Softball. He served on the Worcester Parks Commission, and the Worcester Advisory Board.

Doug’s greatest role was that of husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His children and grandchildren fondly remember “coffee shop time” with him at Donut Cafe or Colonial Donut.

Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, June 4, from 4 pm until 8 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Thursday, June 5, departing the funeral home at 10:40 am in procession to an 11 am Funeral Mass at The Cathedral of Saint Paul, 15 Chatham Street, Worcester.
