Dolores T Rano

Dolores T. (Leonard) Rano, 88 of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday November 12, 2019. Her husband John A. Rano died in 2004. Dolores is survived by her loving grandchildren, Dianna and her husband Ryan, Jaclyn and her husband A.J. Nicholas Jr, and his wife Katie, and Jessica and her husband Eli. Dolores was the proud great grandmother to Wyatt, Elene, Avery, Nicholas 3^rd and Alaina. Dolores also leaves several nephews and nieces among them Kevin Grundstrom who was like a son to her and his late wife Pat, and Steven and Paul Grundstrom. Dolores was predeceased by a daughter Catherine Rano Donovan, a son Carl Rano, and her beloved sister Claire Grundstrom.

 Dolores was born in Worcester daughter of the late Leo and Catherine T. (King) Leonard and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. She worked as a Telephone Operator for many years at New England Telephone Company. Dolores and her sister Claire also owned and operated a Five and Dime store on Lake Ave for many years. Dolores was a longtime member of the Church of St. Margaret Mary. She loved to travel, dance and play bingo, but her most treasured times were when she was with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dolores was a strong women that endured a lot of sorrow when she lost her children, but she carried on with great strength and love for her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

 Dolores’ funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 19 at 11:00AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11AM.
