Dolores "Dolly" (Ritacco) Kachajian

April 13, 1938 — March 9, 2024

Dolores “Dolly” M. (Ritacco) Kachajian, 85, of Worcester, long-time owner of Macey Sign Company, passed away in the peacefulness of her home on Saturday, March 9th, 2024.

Dolly leaves behind her beloved family. She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, George J. Kachajian. She leaves their three children; Darlene Nedeljkovic and her husband Srdjan, Karen Marlowe and her husband John, and her treasured son David Kachajian; twelve grandchildren; Jeffrey, Jillian, Marina, Relja, Kevin, Milan, Monika, Kristy, Kristina, Olivera, Aleksandra, and Katarina; and four great-grandchildren Julian, Stefan, Mckenzie, and Henry; and several nieces and nephews. Dolly was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Anthony and Rita (Mandella) Ritacco. She leaves behind her brother, Anthony Ritacco Jr., and her two sisters, Maria-Elena Payne, and Barbara Deyette.

Dolly graduated from Commerce High School and Deardons Key Punching School. Following her education, Dolly was employed by Dapol Plastics Inc. In the 1980s, she joined her husband in running their family business, Macey Sign Company. Together they ran a successful company; their signs can be seen throughout Worcester County till this day. They drew in many customers with their magnetic personalities. They worked side by side until their retirement.

Dolly and her siblings were inseparable from birth. She always expressed a loving appreciation for the close bond she shared with them. Dolly was a devoted mother that fostered a beautiful childhood for her children with her generosity and love. She shared an especially sacred and undeniable bond with her son David. Even though Dolly was blessed with such a large family, she made everyone feel individually supported and special. She never missed an occasion to celebrate a milestone or achievement of her family.

She was a selfless person who dedicated her life to making others happy. The needs of others came before her own with any circumstance. Dolly made life-long friends wherever she went. Anyone lucky enough to befriend Dolly quickly became part of her family. With her warm smile and overall charm, people naturally gravitated towards her. She was known by all for having an enormous heart of gold.

She enjoyed the simple things in life; keeping up with the latest shows, playing cards, staying up to date on the news and current events, and spending quality time with the people she cared about. Dolly would always remember the little details and would frequently talk with her loved ones. Her daily phone calls will be missed.

She was an angel on earth. May her legacy of compassion and kindness be remembered by all.
