Dr. Dhimitri Cico, 73 of Holden passed away unexpectedly at UMASS Memorial Medical Center on Thursday, September 19, 2019.
Dhimitri was born on August 28, 1946 in Korca, Albania; the son of the late Thoma and Iro Cico. He was raised and educated in Albania. He graduated as MD from the University of Medicine in Tirana. He loved being a doctor and helping people in need his entire life. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dhimitri is survived by his wife of 41 years, Valentina Cico; his son, Tomi Tsitsos and his wife Krisida Treska of Holden; two adored grandchildren, Valentina and Viviana and a sister, Nadia Kyrintzi. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a genuinely humble person and always made sure that everyone around him was taken care of first, before his own needs were met. He was passionate about cars and was a diehard Manchester United Fan. He was beloved and respected by his family, patients, friends and colleagues for a life defined by deep intelligence, compassion, integrity and a big heart.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Sunday, September 22th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 23rd at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow to Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
