Dennis Mazur

Dennis Mazur, 68, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in the comfort of his home.

Dennis is survived by his brother David and sister-in-law Angela, his brother Jim and sister-in-law Laurie, his nephew Tom Mazur and wife Jacquie and their daughter Ivy, his dear friends and second family in Massachusetts, Don and Traci Post and their daughters Samantha Miller and family and Stephani, and many cousins and friends.

Born on October 18, 1957, in New Britain, Connecticut, Dennis was the son of the late Lucian and Ann (Siwiak) Mazur.

Dennis was a graduate of Pulaski High School in New Britain, Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he earned an MS. He worked as a software engineer for Digital Equipment Corporation and stayed with the company through its many mergers and then worked for the EMC Corporation until he retired.

Dennis was a loving person who cared deeply for his family and friends. Without hesitation he was always ready to offer his help and support to us, our children, and our pets. He exuded joy, included us in fun activities and had a great sense of humor. He came with us on excursions, even those outside of his interests, and then rounded out the day with a meal and a hike. Sharing our load in moves and home improvement project, he made hard work light. Dennis loved animals and was a wonderful cat dad to Marley and Ruth and loved dog sitting for Sam and Steph’s dogs, Bosco and Maisie.

Dennis challenged himself to prepare for new adventures. He learned animation and created videos for children’s songs. He liked biking, running, kayaking, blasting off model rockets, exploring the natural world, and taking part in events like concerts, sporting events, and races. He was a person whom you could not help but like and a wonderful uncle who loved to play and plan and share delightful activities.

We miss Dennis immensely but his joy for life and his love for us will always be in our hearts.

A Memorial Gathering for Dennis will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, beginning at 1:00p.m. followed by Celebration of Life starting at 3:00p.m. at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
