Listen to Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" M. (Winsky) Tardy, 69, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, after a difficult five-month battle with Lung and Brain cancer. Debbie fought valiantly until the end. Born in Boston on August 2, 1956, Debbie was raised in Grafton and was the oldest daughter of Tony and Aldona (Pranaitis) Winsky, who predeceased her.

Debbie was the happiest when she was hanging out with family and friends, forever loving on them or working in her garden. She enjoyed canning tomatoes and was well-known for both her rhubarb and pepper jelly. Debbie's other passion was spending time at the beach, toes in the sand. Hampton Beach, Salisbury Beach and Cape Cod were her favorite summertime destinations, and Golden Margaritas, her all-time favorite summertime drink.

In her earlier days, Debbie was employed at Duracell in Needham as an Executive Assistant. Her colleagues always said, "Noone could do it better than Debbie". To this day, she maintained many of her old Duracell friendships, swapping stories involving their workplace antics.

Debbie is predeceased by her husband, Maurice "Moe" Tardy, who passed in 2025. She leaves a stepson, Robert Tardy of Worcester; her grandchildren, Stephen Wessels of Worcester, and Courtney Tardy of Worcester; her great grandson, Troy Tardy; a sister, Donna Chapin (Bruce) of Holliston; her three nieces and nephews Eric Chapin (Jule) of Framingham, Halley Marcouillier (Ryan) of Littleton, and Ted Chapin of Warwick, RI. A great nephew, Harrison Marcouillier; a brother-in-law, Donnie Tardy and nephew, DJ of Gardner. Several special friends also need acknowledgement, her extended Shrewsbury family, include the Current family, Patty, the much-loved Matriarch, John, Caroline, Chloe, and Lylah; her Goddaughter, Linda McNulty; her Cape Cod "sister"; as well as her Francis Garden community friends who were all there for her during her Cancer fight.

Sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Faith and Family Hospice and Westborough Health Care, who worked tirelessly to keep Debbie comfortable during her time with them.

A Memorial Services and a Catholic Mass will be held for Debbie at a later date.

Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, are honored to assist the family with arrangements.
