Deborah L. Perro, 67, of Sacramento, California, formerly of Worcester passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 5th, 2024, with her partner and best friend Pam by her side. Debbie joins in heaven, her parents, other relatives and her sister, Darlene Perro who passed away May 14th of last year
Deborah was born and raised in Worcester, one of three daughters of the late Richard J. and Barbara A. (Ginese) Perro. She graduated from North High School, went on to earn her Nursing degree from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. She began her career in Nursing at City Hospital, before moving to California where she worked as a charge nurse for many nursing facilities before retiring due to injury.
Debbie is survived by the family she loved, her partner and best friend of over 24 years, Pam Crozier with whom she lived, a sister, Doreen R. McElroy and her life partner, Kevin Floria; a nephew and niece she cherished, SFC Joseph McElroy US Army and his wife Sarah, and their children, Rylee and Declan of Fayetteville, NC , Jennifer Marleau and her husband Dan of Worcester; her aunt Jean Perro of Florida; many cousins, extended family members and friends.
Debbie was a kind and generous person, who was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and needle pointer. She made and produced many items for family and friends. Even though, she was a long way from home, Debbie kept in constant contact with relatives and friends across the U.S.A. She also loved sports and in particular softball and watching the Boston Sports Teams.
A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, May 16th from 9 am to 10:30 am the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME and CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, followed by a procession beginning at 10:45 to St Bernard’s church, 228 Lincoln St where family friend Reverend Jonathan Slavinskas will celebrate her Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will be in St John Cemetery. Family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial remembrances in her name be made to St Bernard’s Church, 228 Lincoln St. 01605.
