David I. Sebring

May 25, 1967 — February 21, 2023

David I. Sebring of West Boylston, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his home.  He was born on May 25, 1967, in the U.S Army Military Hospital on the Babenhausen Kaserne Army Base in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Master Sergeant, Harold I. Sebring and Ida R. (D’Olimpio) Sebring. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael F. Sebring and nephew, Christopher J. Sebring.

He is survived by his loving wife, Robin T. (Hamilton) Sebring. His daughter, Caitlin J. MacDonald and her husband Corey; his beloved granddaughter, Madeline; and grand-pup, Rico, all of West Boylston; his brother, Stephen H. Sebring of Worcester; his mother-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.

David was an avid lover of history, the Red Sox and weather, however his two true loves were his family and carpentry.  David was a master carpenter by trade; he did everything from frame to finish.  He could talk carpentry all day everyday with anyone.  He had a special skill for just knowing the right spot or measurement on the first try without using a tool for the never-ending tasks and projects his family gave to him.

David was a true family man, from cooking together, to Sunday family dinners, or sunny summer days out by the pool.  There wasn’t a single day that went by that he didn’t call, text or facetime with his family, especially his granddaughter, with whom he shared the most special bond. Robin and Caitlin were the lights in his life, he often referred to them as his inner circle, and Maddie and Corey quickly became a part of that circle. Not a day will go by that David won’t be missed, thought of, or talked about.

Calling Hours will be on Sunday, February 26, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Madeline MacDonald Scholarship Fund in care of Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union, 489 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
