Dana James Bonardi, 43, of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away on July 11, 2025. Born on May 23, 1982, in Worcester, Dana lived a life marked by passion, music, and an energy that could light up any room he entered.
A gifted and widely admired professional drummer, Dana was a beloved figure in the Massachusetts music scene. Whether on stage or in conversation, he was known for his exuberant spirit, infectious smile, and the magnetic joy he brought to those around him. Music wasn’t just a career for Dana — it was his heartbeat.
Dana was a devoted and proud father to his three children: Devin Bonardi, Deyana Bonardi, and Austin Bonardi. His love for them was unwavering, and he spoke of them often with pride. He was also a loyal friend, the kind of person who made you feel seen, heard, and always greeted you with a smile.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph “Bubbles” Bonardi, Debra Bonardi; his older brother, Jesse Bonardi; and his younger sister, Jenna Bonardi, her husband Greg and son Brooklyn. Dana’s legacy lives on through his children, his family, and the countless lives he touched with his music and kindness.
Dana’s presence was a light — bright, warm, and unforgettable. He will be deeply missed, but his rhythm carries on in every beat of the lives he changed.
“Still drumming, just on higher ground.”
