Craig R. McDonough, 72 of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at UMass Medical Center.

Craig was born in Boston, a son of the late Henry and Julia (Havlin) McDonough. He was a graduate of Don Bosco High School and later attended Florida Institute of Technology. Craig worked as a computer programmer for various companies for many years before he retired. He was an enthusiastic fan of science fiction especially books and media and enjoyed attending the yearly science fiction convention.

Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie C. (Shaw) McDonough; three sons, Richard Craig McDonough, Christopher Michael McDonough, and Liam McDonough of Worcester; a daughter, Vikki McDonough of Minnesota; grandchildren, Nichelle; a brother, Paul McDonough of Florida; his mother-in-law, Mary Aegerter of Minnesota; his father-in-law, Henry Shaw of Massachusetts; a brother-in-law, Edward Shaw of Minnesota; his feline companion, “Dawn”; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Elaine Daly.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 10-11 am followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am in Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to: CaRMaH Cat Rescue or to the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center Gender Affirming Care Program
