Constance “Connie” M. Richer, 66, of Northborough, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026. She was the beloved wife of 35 years of David Jacobs.
Connie was born in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, on September 19, 1959, to Philip J. Richer and Mary E. (Doyle) Richer. She grew up in Marlborough, Massachusetts where she was a graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1977. Connie was an active member of the Marlborough High School athletics community and a standout player on the ice hockey, softball and field hockey teams.
Connie continued her education at Providence College where she was the second woman in school history to earn a scholarship to play Division I women’s ice hockey. Connie was known to be a voracious competitor, leading the Lady Friars in assists, points and penalty minutes during her time on the team.
She retired in 2012 after a successful 30-year career working for various telecommunication companies as an Account Executive. Connie enjoyed spending her time outside gardening, golfing, skiing and relaxing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and on Cape Cod. She was known to be an excellent cook and baker whose signature dishes included Chicken Limone and Apple Pie.
Connie is survived by her beloved husband, David Jacobs; their two children, Daniel Jacobs of Portland, ME and Mary Elise Jacobs of Quincy, MA.; brother, Matthew Richer of Columbia, MD; sister, Julie Richer of Boston, MA.; best friend, Kelly Fitzgerald of Shrewsbury, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, June 24, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with her memorial service immediately following at 12:00 pm in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St, Worcester, Massachusetts.
