Congetta V. (Arello) Paquette, 101 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Congetta was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Sebastiano Arello and Pauline (Valvo) Ferro. She attended Worcester Schools and has lived here all her life. Congetta worked as a packer for the former Standard Lock Washer for many years before retiring. She loved singing and during WWII, she especially enjoyed singing to the soldiers based around Massachusetts. Congetta enjoyed crocheting, a good piece of chocolate of any kind, cleaning and kept a meticulous home for her family.
Congetta’s husband of 51 years, Adolphus Paquette passed away in 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Sciannameo and her husband Frank of Auburn and Denise Sinkus and her husband James Quinlivan, Jr. of Worcester; three grandchildren, Jeremy Sinkus and his wife Jen, Sarah Hagglund and her husband Nathan and Zachary Sciannameo; four great grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Benjamin and Jack; a brother-in-law, Arnold “Bill” Grassi of Haverhill. Also, the many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom she was very close with.
Besides her husband and parents, Congetta was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Sciannameo; a brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin and Rose Arello; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Ann and Alfred Nigro, Rose and Arthur Laraia, Lucy Campanile, Santa and Ervin Miller, Mary and Donald Ducharme and Lena Crowder; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Grassi.
The Family would like to extend a Thank You to the team that we call our angels from the Jewish Healthcare Hospice. Words cannot express how grateful we are to all of you.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 8:30-10:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, before departure to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
