Clarence A. Tolson, Jr., 85 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 21, 2026 after a period of declining health.
Clarence was born in Worcester, a son of the late Clarence A. Tolson, Sr. and Beatrice M. (Chagnon) Tolson. He went to Commerce High School and later enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Clarence worked as a bus driver for the City of Worcester for over 20 years before his retirement.
In Clarence’s free time, he loved playing keno and cards, was a member of the Elks, being with his family and a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins. He had a special place in his heart for music and enjoyed dancing and going to Jazz Festivals.
Clarence is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Joan P. (Miller) Senior-Tolson; a daughter, April L. Tolson of Worcester; a son, Victor L. Tolson, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; three step-children, Susan Towle and her significant other, Jim of New Hampshire, Sheryl Senior and her significant other, William and Stephen Senior of Worcester; a brother, Joseph Tolsoh and his significant other, Lillian; ten grandchildren, Victor Tolson, Jr., Tarelle Tolson, Sharise Tolson, Markiel Tolson, Elizabeth Towle, Jackie Tommila & husband Zach, Ali Towle, Cassie Leclerc, Richard Towle and his wife Victoria and William Vickers, Jr.; eleven great grandchildren, Cedric, Zion, Syajiah, Aria, Messiah, Xianna, Markel, Jr., Lucy, Lincoln, Henry, Kieran, Wade, Brooke, and one on the way, due in August; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A graveside service and burial will military honors for Clarence will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
