Celeste Muhr

Celeste (Foley) Muhr, 93, of Worcester, MA, passed away October 26, 2022. Her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert P. Muhr, Sr. passed away November 23, 2016

Born and raised in Marlboro, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Foley and was a graduate of Saint Michael’s Academy in Hudson.

Celeste previously worked at People’s National Bank in Marlboro as a teller and bookkeeper. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Parish, the Ladies Sedality group, the Third Order of Saint Francis and volunteered at St. Stephen’s School, helping Sister Louise Marie, while her children attended first grade. She also loved volunteering at nursing homes with the Jolly Jills Social Club and bringing joy to the patients.

Celeste is survived by her children and their spouses, Maureen and Michael Coakley, Kathleen and Paul LaRoche, Robert Muhr, Jr., Kathleen Muhr, John Muhr, and Michael and Kelly Muhr, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, James Foley, Maureen Hutch, Francis Foley, ad Sheila Foley.

The Muhr family would like to extend a loving thank you to the kind people at Jewish Healthcare Hospice.  Their care and compassion made Celeste’s last days peaceful and dignified.

Calling Hours and Funeral Mass will be held in the church.  Calling Hours, where family and friends may visit with Celeste’s family, will be held on Tuesday, Morning, November 1^st, from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In Saint Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Interment services will be held privately.
