Carol A. (Polaski) Carmody, 81 years of age, of Worcester where she lived all her life, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished.
She leaves her husband, of 59 years of marriage, retired MA State Police Lt., Cornelius J. (Neil) Carmody, 2 sons, Daniel P. Carmody and his wife, Laurel, of Tolland, CT, and Stephen M. Carmody of Los Angeles, CA. Three grandchildren, Devan Carmody of Wethersfield, CT, Jack Carmody of Seattle, WA. and Taylor Carmody of Arlington, VA. Carol also leaves a sister, Barbara Gentile and her children, Christopher Gentile, and Tara Sapp and her husband, Brady and their children Sierra, Sophia and Sadie all of Sanford, FL.; a cousin, Robert P. Kokernak and his wife, Jean, of Gardner, MA with whom she loved to spend time with, many cousins, nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and dear friends.
Carol was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frank J. and Stephanie B. Polaski. She graduated from Commerce High School and Salter Secretarial School.
Carol’s favorite moments were being with her grandchildren and making many memories. She loved bowling and was on the Thunderbird Bowling League for 29 years. Carol enjoyed cooking, boating, and reading. She was an active member of Christ the King Women’s Guild, holding many different offices in her early years at the church. In her younger years, she loved being a Cub Scout Den Mother to her sons’ cub scout troops.
Carol worked many years in several law firms, but most of her career was working for 25 years as a medical transcriptionist. The last 10 years she worked at Worcester Urological Associates, Inc
A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, April 24th ,from 10 am to 11 am followed by her funeral Mass at 11 am, in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rose Monahan Hospice, care of the VNA Care, 67 Millbrook Street, suite 500, North Worcester, MA; or the American Cancer Society, care of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave Boston.
