Carol L. (Eddy) Annunziata, 80, a longtime Worcester resident and former business owner passed away surrounded by her family Tuesday, January 2, 2024, after a brief period of failing health. Carol is now reunited with the “Love of her life” of 54 years, Stephen who left her side, on April 16th and their daughter Christine DiPadua who passed away in 2012.
Carol was born in Worcester, the daughter of Emmett and Dorothy (Taitt) Eddy. Raised in Auburn, Carol graduated from Auburn High class of 1961 and the Saltus Secretarial School, in 1963. On April 19th, 1969, Carol and Steve married and spent the next 54 years devoted to one another and their children with faith, family, devotion, and business. Carol and Steve co-owned and operated Edgemere Business services. She also worked as a physician transcriber before retiring.
She is survived by three children, Jill Shea and her husband Christopher of Holden, Lee DeAdder and her husband Walter of North Oxford, Michael J. Annunziata and his wife Pamela of Auburn; A sister, Marge Recko and her husband Pete of Spencer; nine grandchildren she cherished and was so proud of, Tony, Zach, Nick, Stephen, Joey, Matthew, Cameron, Nathan, and Allie; her son in law, James DiPadua; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, including, Beth, Nancy, Ron, and lifelong friends Thomas and Charlene D’Errico, and her Pioneer Road family. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, a sister, Sandra “Snook” Gigliotti predeceased her.
Carol was a homebody who cherished the comforts of her home, ensuring her husband and children were well cared for, had the ability to succeed and flourish. She made sure her family had everything they needed. She was a kind and faithful soul with a huge heart and giant smile. Carol loved to travel with Steve and the family. She loved the opera, cruises, summers in Harwich Port on Cape Cod, and playing super Mario brothers every night with Steve. Holidays and dinners in the Annunziata family home were special occasions and were moments that will never be forgotten.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Monday, January 8th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 9th at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
