Carlos J. Ribot Vega, 92 of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2023.
Carlos was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Antonio Ribot Melendez and Dominga (Vega) Ribot. He served in the United States Army 65th infantry regiment with the Borinqueneers Unit in the Korean War where he was a recipient of a Bronze Medal of Honor and a Medal of Valor and Combat. Carlos worked as an electrician for Marines Plastic in Clinton, MA for many years retiring in 1994. He was a founding member and pastor at Iglesia Movimiento Pentecostal Church.
Carlos loved to play his saxophone, thought he was a champion at domino’s, loved baseball and fishing was everything to him.
Carlos is survived by a son, Carlos J. Ribot, Jr. and his wife Igdalecia of Holyoke; four daughters, Iris Ribot of Winchendon, Noemi LaRochelle of Worcester with whom he lived, Nancy Ribot of Marlborough and Nora Ribot of Worcester; a brother, Jose Ribot Vega of Puerto Rico; four sisters, Isabel Correa of North Carolina, Felicita Robles, Norma Ribot and Virginia Ribot all of Puerto Rico; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Gloria Mariano; a son-in-law, Joseph LaRochelle.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Friday, June 16th from 8-9 am with a funeral service to begin immediately at 9 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial with military funeral honors will follow in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, MA.
