Capt. Jason C. Couture, WFD

Jason C. Couture, Captain, Worcester Fire Department, age 51, passed away, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Mass General Hospital, with his loving family at his bedside.

Jason is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and soulmate, Michelle L. Blakeney-Couture; two sons, Eric Blakeney and his wife Brittany Toohey of Hudson, MA, and Joshua Blakeney-Couture of Rutland; three grandchildren, Vivianne, Jacob, and Audrey; his parents, Richard W. and Patricia A. (Lyon) Couture of Worcester; his sister, Michelle Couture and her wife Lisa of West Boylston and their children, Jessy Littlefield and her husband James of Worcester, and Christina Ackley of Worcester. Jay was born in Worcester and graduated from Burncoat Senior High School, before joining the United States Navy. He would later earn a bachelor’s degree from Becker College.

Jay dedicated his career to the Worcester Fire Department, initially stationed at the Greendale Fire Station, later moving to the Park Ave Station, and Webster Square Fire Station, most recently serving as Captain of Ladder One, Group two at the Franklin Street Station.

Jay enjoyed the outdoors, as demonstrated by his love of golf, fishing, going to the beach, and sitting beside his pool at the “Couture Resort”. He also enjoyed “The Wonder of It All” and spending time with family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 25, at 11 am at Saint John’s Church, Temple Street, Worcester.

Please go directly to church on Wednesday morning.

A Celebration of Life will be immediately after the Funeral Mass at Union station.
