Barbara A. Harrington

Barbara A. (Williams) Harrington, 57, of Rutland, MA passed away March 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Kevin Harrington and loving mother of Kyle Harrington. She also leaves behind her father and stepmother, Robert and Lorraine Williams of Hubbardston, and her mother Cedelice Leonard of Rutland.

Barbara was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School. She was a longtime employee of the Massachusetts State Police, working as a secretary in the Grafton, Millbury, and Sturbridge barracks, from 1995 until 2020, when she had to retire due to illness. Above all, she loved her home life and spending time with her family. A proud mother, she was very involved with Kyle’s quest to become an Eagle Scout and was always present cheering him on at his track and cross country meets, as well as his 5K races. Barbara enjoyed being in nature while gardening, feeding and being entertained by the local hummingbirds, and traveling with her family, especially on trips to the beach, where she was an avid collector of sea glass.

Friends may call on the family on Sunday, March 27 from 3-6 PM at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland, on Monday, March 28 at 11 AM. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Hubbardston, will be Saturday, April 30 at 12:30 PM.
