September 1, 1971 — January 10, 2023

Awilda (Perez) Amaning, 51 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a courageous battle with cancer.

Awilda was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Victor and Elisa (Diaz) Perez and has been a resident all her life where she graduated from Doherty High School. Awilda later continued her education at the Salter School where she received her certification in Medical Assisting and was currently attending Mt. Wachusett College. Awilda was a CMA Clinical Educator, and a BLS Instructor for Reliant Medical Group as well as a Certified Medical Assistant for over 15 years before her passing.

Awilda was a beautiful free spirit who was funny and creative, loved life, music and enjoyed a good spontaneous adventure. She was a faithful believer of God and took great pride in helping others especially when she spent time with friends made at the Women’s Well. Awilda was blessed with three beautiful children who she loved immensely. Nothing brought her more joy in life than spending time with her children and grandchildren and what a great mother she was.

Awilda is survived by her son, Marvin Amaning of Worcester; her two daughters, Nana Amaning of Worcester and Emily Rodriguez of Spencer; four brothers, Hakim Diaz of Indian Land, SC., Marcus Diaz and Victor Perez, Jr. both of Worcester and Manuel Perez of Boston; four sisters, Nayda Diaz of Puerto Rico, Maritza Bryan of Worcester, Madelyn Toledo of Hartford, CT. and Yazmin Diaz of Worcester; six grandchildren, Keylani Amaning, Jyziah Sykes, Mya Fleuriot, Makani Fleuriot, Mason Amaning and Elliana White; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and colleagues. She is predeceased by a sister, Idalie Diaz.
