Arthur P. "Butch" Carilo, Jr.

Arthur P. " Butch" Carilo, Jr., 74, of Dennis, MA formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully on August 9, 2022, in Cape Cod Hospital.

Arthur was born on September 23, 1947, in Worcester, MA, the son of the late Arthur Carilo, Sr and Rosalie (Johnson) Carilo.  He was a graduate of North High School and received his bachelor's degree at Nichols College. During the Vietnam War, Arthur served his country in the United States Army.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine (Budzinski) Carilo; a son, Paul B. Carilo and his partner Robin Richardson of Spencer; a daughter, Jennifer M. Soloperto and her husband Mark of Canton and a granddaughter Liliana.

Arthur loved spending time at the beach, taking long walks and reading a good book, especially mysteries. He spent most of his free time gardening, woodworking and golfing. He loved trying new restaurants or visiting an old favorite with Elaine. He looked forward to babysitting his granddaughter, Lily every Tuesday. Most of all, spending time with friends and family brought Arthur the greatest joy.

You are invited to attend his visiting hours in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street from 2-4pm Sunday, August 14, 2022.  His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday, August 15, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Mass at St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
