Annette M. (L'Heureux) Leahey

Annette M. (L’Heureux) Leahey, 91 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2026. She was the beloved wife of 67 years to the late James J. Leahey.

Born September 14, 1935, in Claremont, New Hampshire, Annette was the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Courtemanche) L’Heureux. Annette arrived in Worcester to attend the Saint Vincents School of Nursing. After graduation in 1956, Annette remained a registered nurse at Saint Vincents until retiring in 1997.

Annette dedicated her life caring for others. Whether family, friends, or patients, her commitment and compassion for others was her founding strength. Annette volunteered in her community supporting groups such as the PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Annette is survived by her five loving children, Mark J. Leahey of Worcester, David J. Leahey of Colorado, Daniel J. Leahey of New Hampshire, Dianne M. Spagnolia and her husband Doug of Florida and John J. Leahey and his wife Tracy of Rutland; her ten adored grandchildren; her two dear great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A period of Calling Hours will be held for Annette on November 11, from 10:30am until her Funeral Service starting at 12:00pm all in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Annette’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
