Anita (Zompetti) Troio

Anita R. (Zompetti) Troio, 90, passed away peacefully with loved ones gathered at her bedside Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

Anita was born in Worcester,  the daughter of Peter A. and Mary (Sama) Zompetti.  Raised and educated in Worcester, Anita married Leonard Troio and together they raised their family many years in North Grafton. Leo left her side on June 11, 2017, and Anita continued to lead her family until recently.  . 

Anita is survived by her two devoted children,  Anthony Troio (lisa) of Shrewsbury, Laura Spellane, and her husband Paul of Worcester; A granddaughter Angelina Troio and grandson Carl Magrini; Nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  In addition to her husband Lenny and parents, two brothers, Louis and Peter Zompetti, Jr. and two sisters, Eleanor Colp and Lucille Summers predeceased her. 

Anita was a kind, generous women with a huge heart and bright smile who dedicated her entire life to her family.  She enjoyed hosting the holiday celebrations and dinners, the occasional trips to the casino and having her family around her. 

At Anita’s request funeral services and burial next to Lenny in Notre Dame Cemetery are private.  THE MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
