Angela McClain

Angela “Angel” McClain, 65, of Worcester, MA passed away October 5, 2022, at UMass Memorial Hospital, after a battle with cancer.  She is survived by her three children; Larry McClain (wife Cassie), Sheree McClain and Shadae McClain; her mother, Lorener(Toney) McClain; Brothers, Walter Jr., Dwayne,  Dwyatt, Jermaine “JD”, Diago, Fuquan, Robert, Shaquelle, Chad McClain and Damien Goodney; Sisters, Sheree Holmes, Star Kissi, Tammy and Lil Angel McClain,  twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  She was predeceased by her son Neal-Sabree McClain, Father Walter J. McClain Sr., sisters Antoinette McClain Robinson, Wanda McClain, and brother Sean McClain. 

A graduate of Rob Roy Academy, Angel was a licensed Cosmetologist and Barber Stylist.  She worked for Becker College for 10 years and was most recently employed at the YMCA for the last 20 years.

Angel was known for her sense of style, “face card was always valid.”  She won first place in the Elks Beauty and Talent Show at the young age of 16.  

Angel was always the life of the party; she was a great dancer and loved all music.  Reggae and Bachata consistently played on repeat. 

Angel was exceptionally rare, she loved everyone despite their shortcomings.  She was fearless and a force to be reckoned with.  She was very competitive and wanted to win at everything.  She remembered everyone’s birthday and would text a reminder to the family to send birthday wishes.

Angel loved to entertain and was an exceptional cook. Her holiday meals and famous cakes took center stage in her home, most of all she was known for her jerk chicken.  All were welcome at any time. She loved people and loved her family more than anything.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 14 from 4-7 pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. Angel’s funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15 at 9 am at the Worcester Church of Christ, 89 Beaver Brook Parkway, Worcester, followed by interment at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
